Welcome!

Hello, and welcome! Truth be told, I opened this blog when I had just graduated from library school. I've deleted those posts. Dusted this thing off, renamed it, and started it anew. Currently, I am in the process of moving to Pittsburgh from Boston for a library job. It is both exciting and nerve-wracking.

I moved to Boston for college. Somehow, despite previous efforts, I remained here. First apartment, first job, second job, graduate school... I completed my MLIS in 2010; I got my start as a librarian in Boston. I met my now-husband in Boston. And now finally, it is the time, I/we are moving on.

I am told Pittsburgh is a great city. And I am excited to explore it. To continue working in unique, special libraries, to find new restaurants, new bookstores and knitting shops, new museums, and new adventures. I am excited I will have someone to share the adventures with. But of course it is nerve-wracking too. I have lived in Boston for fifteen years, nearly half my life. We're leaving friends. And while social media makes things easier to stay in touch these days, it will not the same as calling or texting someone to make plans to sit down for a cup of tea or a meal.

A lot of these next days will be saying good-bye to the haunts I've spent the last fifteen years visiting. Then it is onto the next step; the new journey. I can't wait.

Here's to exploring new places. Welcome to the adventure.
