Arrival

Well. I am in Pittsburgh. The apartment C. and I are renting is a one bedroom/one study, one-and-half bath. We've talked of putting a couch or futon in the study, but being more wary of the sizes, it is more likely we will be making full use of the air mattress we have. Though there is also a guest house on the property we can rent. It is strange. Our furniture is still in Boston. My kitchenwares, bakingware, everything is still in Boston. We bought a new bed, which was delivered this morning, but otherwise the apartment is empty. Right now, everything seems cavernous.

I've been using Uber more in the last two days than I think I have in the last two months. Yesterday, after arriving from the airport, I went to find dinner and did some shopping at Target. Today, I went grocery shopping. The nearest grocery store, a chain, Giant Eagle, which is a fantastic name, is in a large-ish shopping plaza. I poked around for a bit before doing the food shopping. Michael's is there, as is Barnes and Noble, the Movie Theatre, and other shops and restaurants.

Tonight's plan, now that I have internet, involve watching things via hulu and knitting. I bought some ridiculously inexpensive yarn from Michael's and have plans to knit pillow covers to have a couple decorative pillows on the new bed. Tomorrow, depending on the weather, I may check out the walking trails near here, or I may make my way to the library. Get my library card, get some books to help pass the time. I may also try to finally get downtown. I start the new job Monday.
